Other works with CRM (center of musical research - Rome)

My collaboration with the CRM started in September 2004 and still continues; among the many activities we carried out together there are:
- augmentation of musical instruments:
I worked with M° Michelangelo Lupone on the “FeedDrum” an augmented Bass Drum. Its skin was actuated with a sub-woofer right beneath it. The skin were able to produce an infinite bouncing of the drumstick and feedback. Using the fingers and the feedback effect it was also possible to extract single partials at different frequency according to the Bessel's progression.
The “Feed-Drum” rapidly evolved into “SkinAct” thanks to the evolution of the actuation process
- interactive and adaptive artworks, rooms and sculptures:
sculptures (by Licia Galizia) become sensitive thanks to the usage of several kinds of sensors, an internal algorithm were responsible for sculpture's reactions to external stimulation, the sound generated by the algorithm were spread out by the surface of the sculpture thanks to actuators exploiting the acoustic vibration of the material. Different interactive sculptures in different places were able to communicate through the internet. Two or more users were also able to communicate through the sculpture's reactions. Some of these sculptures are currently used for therapeutic purposes.

Successfully managed and coordinated sound-related activities in various countries worldwide.
